A36 Carbon Steel Plate
ASTM A36 / A36M structural plate, the standard US designation
A36 is the most widely used structural steel in the Americas: 250 MPa minimum yield, 400–550 MPa tensile, good weldability and a composition band that leaves room for field fabrication. It is the grade most Latin American fabricators write on their drawings, and it is quoted against S235JR, SS400 and Q235B. We supply plate with the mill certificate stating A36, plus the equivalent designation if your inspector asks for it.
